Typography
My work explores different writing systems inbetween print and digital worlds, with a focus on readability. Currently, I’m interested in expanding my practice toward accessibility in design, aiming to make typography more inclusive and responsive to diverse readers. I’ve contributed to several print projects, including books and brochures, where type becomes both a functional and expressive element.

Principles of Script

How do other people write their language?
In Latin letters, Cyrillic glyphs, Chinese characters, or in something entirely different?
There are more than 146 writing systems still in use today, and almost as many that have already disappeared. Yet most of us can only name a handful of them.

The calendar Principles of Script explores the world’s writing systems in their diversity, usage, and origins. It presents twelve different scripts, each accompanied by a well-known poem from its culture. Every poster is printed on a different type of paper that interacts with the history and visual language of the script.

A calendar layout, timeline, and world map provide temporal and geographical context, revealed through perforations in the posters. A transparent overlay is placed on top explains the poem, graphic, and material; its content becomes visible only through a flash photograph.

Authenticity

A newspaper which tries to show what authenticity looks like in a typographic way. The story is about a woman who realizes she wants to work as an artist instead of a tax advisor. In the middle of the story, she almost explodes out of happiness. Afterwards, she lives the life of her dreams.

Foto Gaga

The exhibition about Max Ernst is on display at the Museum für Fotografie. But Max Ernst himself never took photographs! Nevertheless, there is plenty of visual material from him and his colleagues that needs to be incorporated into a museum catalog. How can we design each chapter uniquely with fonts and colors without everything falling apart? How can we make the English and German texts run parallel and on an equal footing? How do we deal with the many footnotes? We created two layout designs for the museum catalog and presented them to the client.

The project was created by Matthias Wittig and me during my internship at ↳fernkopie. It is nominated for the Deutscher Fotobuchpreis 25/26.

allein allein

Wer bist du zwischen einsam und gemeinsam?

is about the right balance of being alone and being with others. What does being alone do to ourselves? And in what forms is loneliness perceived in our pop-culture nowadays? This book is trying to give answers and inspire to think further about our habits and decisions -- all paired to either songs, movies, books, etc.

Arabic writing styles

Arabic script has evolved through centuries of cultural, religious, and artistic expression. It is written from right to left and is inherently cursive, meaning that most letters connect within a word. Over time, distinct styles have emerged, each with its own aesthetic and function.
